The DC Universe

DC Comics was created 85 years ago. In the years of evolution, the writers created hundreds of different characters and tons of storylines. The writers decided to put all the characters such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, together with the stories in outer space, like the new gods and Darkseid.

Also there are many stories like Superman: Red Son, which is when Superman is born in Nazis and became their leader. This kind of story can’t fit into the main universe with the always smiling figure of hope Superman. So they created a multiverse to fit all the stories in.

A multiverse means that there are many different types of reality when people does different decisions. For example, In the DC universe the main heroes are located in Earth 1. Earth 3 is the earth that all the heroes are villains and villains are heroes, for example, Superman bacame a villain Ultraman and Lex Luthor became the hero of Metropolis.

When all the stories are put together, DC created 52 Earths and it became a DC multiverse.

In the Crisis on infinite Earths, all the universes merged into five at the end and some of the characters were exterminated in the process.

Years later, in the Infinite Crisis, the five Earths was joined togher, some of the same characters are eliminated like main Superman and Earth 2 old Superman. Some of the other characters like Jay Garrick who was in Earth 2, merged into earth 1 and could run with the other speedster.

I think The DC ‘s universe is very complicated, but at the same time facinating. How can they think of such a huge universe.
